Hello, As Mayor of Van Alstyne, I would like to welcome you to Van Alstyne’s website. We offer good neighbors, great schools, country living and a Downtown Square that has a number of small businesses, quaint shops, restaurants, period buildings and neighborhoods which reflect the city's proud legacies. Van Alstyne mixes its historic past and small-town ambiance with folks, new and old, who are seeking an area where natural beauty abounds and the quality of life and open-space environments are valued. No traffic jams here…..You can count on a smile and someone saying hello, because we are glad you’re here. We take pride in our “Uniqueness”. We are blessed to have numerous places of worship that are also active in the community. We have an amazing “Recognized” school district which prides itself in offering a wide range of advanced placement courses for students. To top it off, Grayson County College offers an opportunity for students to continue their education without the expense of commuting. Van Alstyne Sports Authority offers youth sports programs starting as young as 5 years of age.
